Double Flageolet

Invented in London by William Bainbridge at the beginning of the 19th century, the double flageolet enjoyed a vogue in England and abroad, where it was sold and copied as instrument for amateur players. It was especially intended for ladies, and enjoyed a vogue for many decades. Ivory studs on this instrument help the inexperienced player to locate the fingerholes quickly and accurately.
